Define A Healthy Meal

I had salad for lunch, a late lunch.

Under normal circumstances, salad to me is healthy because why, it contains greens and all that is good for you. Right?

(Picture was randomly picked from Google Images, does not represent the descriptions as follow)

Wrong.

I had a Mango Chicken Salad @ Citrus BV II today. And I think the grilled chicken slices were healthier than the salad itself. T__T

Fml for wanting to go green and live life a little healthier.

Why did they have to put mayo all over my salad and then put my greens in the 'bowl' made up of deep fried crackers? WHY!

(Hahaha! I spelt 'fried' as 'friend' without noticing it until I cross-checked the post before hitting the publish button).

Anyhow, so I guess late lunch wasn't anywhere close to healthy but I told myself, "okay lah, eat lunch so late means can skip dinner lah.."

Thinking that, I finished my 'bowl' of salad.

But as soon as I freaking got home, I GOT HUNGRY AGAIN!

Seriously, screw eating healthy! I am gonna eat all the cakes and sugary stuff as I like. Full stop.

Chirpy Chirpy Chip Chip Chirpy Chirpy Chip

No particular reason for the above title, just the tune came into the mind as I was about to start writing..

I had a different picture at first but I do not understand why it would not load.

Right about now, this is something I would like to get my hands feet hands on. Vintage looking oxford pumps! I have no idea how it is best styled with but it's one of the sudden impulses, if you know what I mean.

I finally got to touch my baby! Sheer joy I tell you.
The baby bearing the name of Thesis II that is.

It's actually the first time holding it in my arms - literally!, because I was not there when it was being given birth to // when it was printed, neither was I there when it was submitted.

So it was the first time handling the hard copy and boy was I one proud mother! Seriously.

So guys, those of you who are now in the midst of battling with your respective papers, all the best and in a week's time, it'll be all over..

So all the best lah!

I am a FAN of CarloRino

I have always been quite amused with CarloRino's ad photos in magazines and just recently I saw their catalog which I thought was really chic..

Head on over to their web page and click on 'catalog'.

It took me eons to load the page but I'd say it's not a total waste of time.

Funny though how I never see a single thing I like when I am in the shop itself.

Beats me..

Convenient Opportunity

Ever given it any thought?

It's like, something happens / an opportunity comes at the right place, at the right time, to the right person.

So convenient.

What do you think?

All The Best!

This was what I went through last semester and I can confirm that it sure wasn't one bit of fun.

So I know those of you going through it now are having a difficult time, but you will make it through, so..

.. all the very best to each and everyone of you!

I is a Dragon

You Are the Dragon
You are powerful and a bit intimidating. While you do have a bit of a temper, your bark is much more vicious than your bite.
In general, you tend to be fair and even noble. You treat everyone with respect, and you try to do right by people.

However, if someone crosses you, you can get downright nasty. Your emotions can get the better of you.
You don't literally breath fire when you're angry, but enough. It's best not to make you bad.

Hmmmm..

Number 1

That's the second first since 2010 begun.

It feels great, but one can't harp on moments of happiness, pride and a sense of fulfillment like these for too long because as cliche as it is, life goes on. Right?

There are things that will upset you, that will make you feel small and inadequate, there are people who will belittle you, and most of all, things you wish to run away from, they will always be there. Always.

The whole point is to not think about running away, but face the challenge.

My piece of advice (mostly said for myself to digest):

Make the best of what you have and that will make life a whole lot more worth living!

Of Being Random and Happy

Top 3 things I simply adore / am in love with at the moment..
  1. My Crabtree & Evelyn "Summer Hill" Hand Therapy which I keep on my work table.
  2. One.fm - 88.1
  3. My new laptop sleeve!
Today was much fun. Can't wait to see the husband wife photos in particular! XD
Ivy, ask ur camera to charge faster can? :P

So I have got to be at the airport by 11.15am tmr and I have not packed my bags yet.

Will do so in a bit lah.. Should I attempt to carry the laptop this time around too?

Hmmm...

Seriously?!

Got to be glad the page is in BM. Otherwise.. it'd be an international joke. -_-

I mean, seriously? Of all means - Facebook?

Okay, I don't know. Maybe it is a good thing.. *shrugs*

Today has been rather eventful. And that makes me one happy girl!

True enough. I snoozed the phone and skipped the morning jog. But I made it up by walking the dog when I eventually woke up. And then I bathe the dog because that's the routine, go for walk then shower.

After that, it was 2 hours on the TV and then IKEA meatballs with Sharon for a very late lunch. Oh so satisfying!

Bought 2 books from Borders. The mother has this thing about me buying books because she says that 1. It's a waste of money because once you've read it, you don't typically read it a second time, and 2. It's a waste of space - because you've already spent money buying it, you aren't going to throw it away so you're gonna store it.

You may or may not disagree but at least those are applicable to me lah.

Anyhow, I reckon it was worth spending money on the books I bought today. Because one was a recommended book by a close family friend and the other just seemed like a really interesting read.

Then it was a quick visit to Digital Mall.

I finally bought my laptop sleeve. Tried it on when I got home, it's a bit too big. -_- But had I bought a size smaller, it would have been too small anyways.

So here I am back at home feeling happy, I should probably get started with practice for the speech tmr.

Thailand on Thursday! Woot woots!! :))

If You Think Life's Been Hard

.. think again.

Often times I find myself momentarily envy-ing these girl groups or celebrities because they always look good and have this simply-cannot-go-wrong vibe.

I have the tendency of thinking about the "If only's" and "What if my life was equally glamorous" etc etc. Come on, don't tell me you never think about it also!

While I tend to harbor such thoughts, I am not totally ignorant about how difficult their lives can be - the paparazzi; look good 9/10 times nothing news worthy but that one out of tenth time then kena scrutinize kao kao; fat also kena, skinny also kena; too fair people say cheat one, too dark people also complain, basically the list goes on and on lah. T__T

Well, not exactly the type of lifestyle anyone would typically dream of either lah. But this (video below) really highlights how tough life can be for them.

Even if you fall, you've just got to get up, smile and continue smiling as if nothing happened.

While I do kinda enjoy the song, the purpose of this vid is the fall!

(Source from POPSEOUL!)

Confirm "ouch" moment. Did you hear the "thud"? I certainly did and while it wasn't even my leg, I went ouuuuch (for her).

Poor girl... But the fact she continued performing and did a fantastic job I would say (I dare you to disagree), standing ovation worthy moment.

Anyway, point in matter.. 2 points actually.
  1. When you fall, pick yourself up. No one else can do that for you!
  2. Why do these girls wear heels to perform! Don't they know it's bad for them?
Sheesh, do you think they'll ever learn their lesson?

Standby

Precisely what I am doing right now. On standby.

Considering I've really got nothing much to do for today, I'm not complaining.

But just the thought of it. What would it feel like if one was on 'Standby' all the while? I think that feeling must really suck. Just a thought.

I had something to talk about but it seemed to have escaped me this very moment..

maybe later! :)

A Something Interesting

Today, I made a discovery.. I realized I had never Googled "sailing" ever before! Interesting how I googled it for my speech later and came upon the above youtube which I find pretty awesome.

Yesterday I was thinking to myself, there are lots of things I wished for. For instance, I wish I had a walk-in closet.

I wish I hadn't had to rely so much on 'outsourcing' and instead be more capable of finding energy from within myself.

I wish I lived by the beach and wish that everyday I'd wake up to the soothing sounds of the waves crashing on the shores..

I can go on and on and on and it'll never end. Trust me.

Some of these wishes change over time - When I was a lot younger, I wished I'd grow up to become a cashier because cashiers 'have a lot of money'.

Some wishes come true..

Some gets modified along the way..

But all in all, there's one thing I wish for which will never change. And that wish is for you.

I wish you Happiness because YOU deserve.. /loves

新加坡

I wasn't planning on writing this entry at all. But people keep asking me "How was Singapore?".

I am tempted to answer, "Singapore was doing fine when I left it". But for the most of it, my reply goes along the lines of this, "I walked a lot", and by that, I really mean A LOT.

***

So the first day was spent walking reservoirs and seeing some rather awesome sights which never in my life would I have thought I'd see. I mean, such places in the country where land is so scarce? You've got to be kidding me! But what can I say, it's true and right before my eyes.

Second day was pretty much spent walking the luxurious malls from 313 to Wheelock and had it not rained, I probably would have defied the law of nature of 'You Should Stop Walking When Your Legs Are Crying In Pain'.

I didn't get much, a pair of blue anchor earrings from the 4 (or was it 5) storey F21 which I absolutely love (the earrings, not the shop because things so expensive - still have to convert to ringgit which is times 2.4 almost T__T. I will like the shop when I earn Sg $$ / any currency bigger). Also bought blue nail lacquer from Nature Republic.

Thirdh day. Spent with Joyce, the Malaysian working in Singapore who is also a someone's darling..

We went to Sentosa in the morning, did some researching for possible future visits. Walked from one end of the beach to the other- from Siloso to Palawan to be precise, because Joyce said she remember taking photos at this tower where one would have to walk across a hanging bridge.

See, I did not lie when I said I walked damn the 7 a lot! Nevermind, if you think that is not a lot, got more walking to come. T__T

After staring enough at boys and men with hot bodies Sentosa, we decided to pay a visit to Bugis St where we did some pretty awesome shopping. Possibly the only place I can afford to shop in Sg without pulling my hair out afterwards when I calculate how much I spent on what.

(still think it doesn't qualify for walking a lot?? Just wait, still got more)..

After shopping, we decided to have a semi romantic + affordable dinner by the Esplanade. Again, walked from City Hall all the way to the riverside! T__T Seriously, thank God my legs didn't break otherwise really fml already become crippled from walking too much on my holiday in Sg.

Take away the negativity - Dinner was awesome!

Picnic style. Tapao-ed deep fried fish in beer batter with malt vinegar from Chippy's plus some Japanese Pizza from somewhere somewhere (Bugis Junction me thinks). Awesome awesome.. to make things better for myself and also to rub it in lah, someone was jealous and was complaining about missing out on the fun. Poor you! :P

Sunday was spent with EVEN MORE WALKING I am so not kidding you! The uncle who is a die hard golf fan /player suggested we go watch the HSBC Women's Tournament somewhere in some premier golf club in Changi if I've got my directions right.

Exclusive Michelle Wie photos! Nah, eat that! Finally I am an owner of a celebrity's photo! Can copyright. *bangga*

It was burning hot and it was packed with no, not Singaporeans but Koreans and Japanese! Seriously man. I was quite amazed. No surprise Ai, the small framed Japanese player took the trophy home lah, not home base also got more supporters than anyone else.

Ai, same name, I was basking in reflected glory for a little bit. Pfft.

If you ask me if I felt bored during the game, I was not bored at all. But damn tired got lah. I can assure you I felt my legs turning jelly at some point.

Golf is actually pretty interesting, might wanna give it a go. Good money leh, why not right?

So that's pretty much. A little bit here and there that I missed out in my recap of my 4 day Sg trip:

  • I tried the MOS burger and the Yakiniku Rice Burger. Nothing to shout about but it's something different.
  • I did some crystal shopping. Apparently crystals are way overpriced, or so I was told. If you were to buy it straight from the suppliers, they actually won't hurt your wallet that badly.
  • Who said you cannot get lost in Sg! You can! I can testify to that! Or maybe I am noob lah but I had to stop to ask an uncle for direction, once.
  • However, I was also approached by FOUR human beings (sadly for me, all were aunties/ females) asking me for directions! I must either have a very friendly face or they must be just really unlucky. T__T
  • It felt really safe to walk around in Sg. I didn't bother to zip my bag wherever I went and I didn't have the constant "look around you to see if there are any suspicious looking human beings".
  • Ipanema's aren't all that comfy as you can see from my plastered foot! Anyway, it's sold cheaper here than in Sg, for those of you don't want to listen to me and still want to buy yourself a pair.

Photos are in reverse order and I didn't expect to write so much like I said earlier- wasn't planning to write about the trip to begin with mana tau got so much to write, so I very lazy to arrange the photos already.

Happy viewing nevertheless!

See the plaster? Walk too much + uncomfortable Ipanema. :(

I look damn fat but it's the only photo I have of us together! T_T

Because your legs look super skinny in this photo!
