Three, Four, Five and I Lost Count

New and recent little pleasures:
  1. Fresh toast in the morning
  2. Receiving that good morning text
  3. Going to bed and feeling contented
  4. Getting in touch with long lost friends
  5. Having milk in the fridge
  6. A good workout
  7. Having a routine
  8. Having someone to get mad at but still love and miss
  9. Sunsets
  10. Opening the windows in the morning and allowing fresh breeze into the room
  11. 10-min yoga session every morning to get started with the day
  12. Staring at my photo wall
I hope everyone finds their own little pleasures too!

Way Maker

Before I even get to my main content for today, let me state that I just realised I had a half-written draft on my reflections for 2019 sitting in my outbox. It was dated 30 December 2019.

It's an incomplete piece of work, I have no idea why I didn't finish it, but in any case, it is not going to see the light of the day. Perhaps, I'll be more diligent and get around to writing, completing and posting a reflection piece on 2020. Maybe.

So, what brings me back here today after a long, long while? It only took a text.

My favourite uncle in the world dropped me a text to ask if I've stopped writing. So, that's why I am back.

Hm. There's a lot going on in the world today, and I have read so many opinions and comments that I am actively trying to refrain from saying anything because I feel like the world needs less comments and more introspection.

I am using this time to reflect on what is truly important to me, who really matters, and what my priorities are. I urge you to do the same.

For those of us who can afford to slow down, eat warm meals, listen to music, wake up and talk to family and friends via chats and technology, spare a moment also to remember that there are also others who don't have the same luxury.

So, let's not take anything for granted. Be grateful, and be kind.

I love this tune, and I hope it also encourages you who are reading this post today.

Way Maker - Passion 2020

Last but not least, today marks the 7th month of my (not-so-new) dating life! If you ever read this which I highly doubt, congratulations to us on making it this far, and I love you!

P/s: I am so sweet.

What Is Kaya Toast Without Butter

My Kopitiam breakfast set came without the butter. Otherwise, it may have just as well been perfect.

Your surroundings shapes what you become.

I never used to break my own soft-boiled egg. But I do now.

Tomorrow is the day of the big move. Packing continues today. Perhaps after the move, with the promise of stronger wifi at home, and lesser hours spent on the commute, I will write more often. I do love writing after all. I realised.

I love it when I select a random playlist and I hear that one song that I instantly heart.

Way Back Home - SHAUN (feat. Conor Maynard) [Sam Feldt Edit]

It's like I'm dancing among the clouds. What a feeling!

When You Love Someone, You Make Room

Love Someone - Lukas Graham

If you love someone
And you're not afraid to lose 'em
You probably never loved someone like I do

Awww.. That said.

My right palm is so sore from bowling today. I hope it doesn't give me issues tomorrow because it's gonna be a crazy-roller-coaster-ride work week ahead. My motivation to get through it?

When checking bank account month end.

And watching Please Take Care of My Refrigerator makes me wanna date a chef.

Hey. A girl can hope!

Are You Happy?

Am I happy? Affirmative.

Woke up today feeling chirpy. And 2 hours later, I still am feeling quite elated. No apparent reason though. I just feel happy. Life has been kind.

On to some thoughts of the day.

My kpop/ kdrama crush has enlisted - Yoon Doo-joon. Read an article about why he's so loved by fans and his own band members, and my hope is that, I too will be a leader like that. Bring people up, and rise together. Be humble and kind.

Ultimately, no one person is perfect, but while we're at life, we've got to give it our best shot. And truly, that is all one can ask for.

I want to figure out a style that I am comfortable with, and get past the experimental stage. Something that fits.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Just Stay

Just Stay - HYOLYN; 서른이지만 열일곱입니다 OST Part.2

I managed a run after work, super proud of myself.

Thought today: When I started this new job, I was delighted that I could carry a handbag instead of a backpack, all day, everyday. But today I decided to carry my trusty Herschel and I instantly fell (back) in love with the convenience of a backpack.

Familiarity breeds comfort.

Why Do I Listen To So Much KPop?

I've been listening to Eddy Kim's When The Night Falls all day long. And when I say all day long, I mean all day long.

In order to stop listening to them for awhile, I am going to share one from this other band that I adore because they are so cute and their songs are addictive!

B1A4 - Rollin

My mirror has a #rollin' hastag to remind myself to just roll with the flow in life sometimes. I'm so defensive that I make my own life more difficult than it needs to be.

As to why I listen to so much k-pop, I don't have an answer. Y'know, they say love is blind.

Flower Way

Sejeong - Flower Way

I love, love, love this song.

Also, there is this one drama that I am completely addicted to right now - Temperature of Love.

Hook, line, sinker.

You and Me

You and Me (너랑 나랑) - Solji (솔지 EXID)

When you find a song that you can listen to on-repeat, you know you've found your song.

Life has been a little bit of a slow walk lately.. I can't say that I am feeling discouraged, nor that have I been particularly motivated. Just kinda stuck, in a blissful cycle.

I took my coffee black today, because I ran out of milk. And it tasted good. Just saying.

Hope Wednesday is good to all of you! /love

Live, Life, Love

Today will go down in history as one of my most significant days in my life.

Let me tell you why.

Today, I have been reassured that I'm blessed in life with not just good people, but with people whom I care about deeply and who care about me just as much.

It is for a reason as simple as that. /love

I'm In Love

I - Taeyeon feat Verbal Jint

With this tune.

Aesthetic value alone I'd give it a 10/10. The music video is gorrrrrgeous, but there's something about the song itself that sounds beautiful to me too. And I've always liked Taeyeon as an artist.

The only gripe I have about this whole scenario is, How can anyone have such perfect skin!

I'm torn about waking up early to try and make it for a group session before work tomorrow at this new gym nearby my workplace. Maybe I should put in the effort. Hm.

And I've got quite a bit going on in my head so I hope I'll be able to iron some of the things out and get some decent shut eye tonight.

Happy midweek peeps! x

Diving @ Perhentian with Universal Divers

Hello peeps!

I'm back from 4 wonderful days (Wed - Sat) of diving with newfound confidence that I as long as I trust myself, I can do anything. Granted, with the correct support from the necessary people that is.

After all, that's why God puts so many different people in our lives. It's always for a reason.

I've got the awesome dive instructors and divemasters from Universal Divers, on Perhentian Besar - Charlotte, Ali, Farid, Niko, Gemma and all the helpful and sweet boat guys to thank for making me feel at home underwater and for being so patient with me. THANK YOU! :)

I successfully logged 8 dives in the 4 days, 2 dives each on Wed and Thurs, 3 dives on Fri and 1 early morning on Sat before leaving Perhentian by noon. That brings my total dive count to 12 so far!

Here are some on land photos of the bunch I was travelling with. No diving photos because I've not fully mastered the art of taking care of myself underwater, yet. Also, underwater photography gear costs a bomb!

After a whole night's drive from Kuala Lumpur to the jetty. I was mostly asleep in the car.
I make a terrible passenger / stay awake driver companion.

All excited to finally be on our way to island "paradise", the haze found its way there too, but it's definitely much much worse back home!

The other two divers I was with who had to care for their expensive cameras (and me).

Sunset view from Cocohut - where we stayed and dined at most of the time.
I give them a 9/10 rating for overall experience; decently priced, clean, with hot showers, aircond and fan, and sufficiently comfy beds, make sure you pack an extra blanket if you tend to get chilly at night.

Mango Smoothie yummsss!

Our dinners were mostly extravagant. That's what vacations are for! :)

These meals were all at Cocohut's restaurant.

Trying out the selfie stick! I am tempted to get one..

Group photo!

Overall on my dive trip: Visibility underwater wasn't all that great, and the currents were strong. I still did manage to catch sightings of Nemo(s), a shark, nudibranchs, turtles, a tonne of fishes whose names I cannot remember. All in all, good training for a newbie diver like myself. We all learn through experience no?

I had a fantastic time thanks to the people I was traveling with, the people I encountered on the island and not to forget, thank you Lord for helping me recover in time for my dives, and for keeping all of us safe throughout the trip.

Can't wait for my next dive trip!

No Surprises

No Surprises - Daughtry

Ephesians 4:26-32
New International Version (NIV)

26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

I've been pissy lately about a lot of stuff. Specifically when it comes to people not respecting my time and taking it for granted. It annoys the daylights out of me. And I complain about it a lot to others. I probably shouldn't.

My previous post states that I've plans the whole entire week. Much of it didn't quite go as planned. Wednesday night climb was cancelled because I had to work late. And today's sailing was cancelled too, which ideally is good for me because I'm supposed to get some work done.

We've got this new account that we want to pitch for and it's kinda last minute and our deadline is Monday. I was reluctant to cancel my plans for Saturday to finish the work because well, I already made plans. So now that I'm sitting in front of my computer, my mind is drawing a blank and I have no clue on how to get started. Zzz.

I am in the right mind to just end up submitting nothing for my part and face my boss's wrath. I had better get to work so that I can spend some time running / skipping in the later part of the evening.

I read not too long ago (I can't remember where from) but it said that insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting different results.

I tend to do that when it comes to people I 'fall for'. I think that's me self handicapping myself. Fall for the people you know it'll never work out with, and then when it really doesn't work, you can just use "I knew it wasn't going to work" as an exit. And by that, I wouldn't invest too much into it to begin with. Win - win.

But that's kinda wrong right? Lol
