I flew from Malaysia to Singapore, stopped over at Narita, Seattle and Denver before (finally!) arriving Des Moines, a journey that took about 35 odd hours. My return journey was less 'fancy' but nevertheless still long, 20 hours from Los Angeles to Narita to Singapore and finally back home. Will I do it again? Perhaps.
The big group separated into two smaller groups and went our own ways after Narita. The Mom and I to Seattle and Denver while the rest headed to Chicago, missed their connecting flight to Des Moines and ended up arriving a few hours after us.
Des Moines was really cold despite it already being end of spring, beginning summer. I had on my warmest jacket and it was still a wee bit cold.
So the highlight of Des Moines was Heng's "premature" commencement, I would put it. Since he's only officially graduating end of the year. Regardless, congratulations little one, you've done us proud, your photo is now up on the family's Wall of Fame!
The road trip began shortly after Heng's commencement and of him moving out of his resident hall to his new home and of us helping him with his move.
Clearly, you can see who was most helpful! :D
I have this inkling that I am NEVER going to finish covering my whole US journey so appreciate the parts that I do.
to be continued...
